The ERP System Administrator - Manufacturing is responsible for the administration, support, optimization, and continuous improvement of the company's ERP system, primarily JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, within a manufacturing environment.
This role ensures the ERP system effectively supports production planning, shop floor control, inventory management, procurement, and financial operations. The position also leads business intelligence and reporting initiatives using Microsoft Power BI and SAP Crystal Reports to provide operational visibility and performance analytics across the manufacturing lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
ERP Administration & Manufacturing Support
Administer and maintain JD Edwards (EnterpriseOne) manufacturing modules including:
Shop Floor Management
Manufacturing Accounting
MRP (Material Requirements Planning)
Inventory Management
Procurement
Sales Order Management
Manage CNC configurations, environment promotions, package builds, and ESUs.
Configure Bills of Materials (BOMs), Routings, and Work Orders.
Support production scheduling, capacity planning, and demand forecasting.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot production-impacting issues.
Maintain role-based security and ensure segregation of duties.
Coordinate ERP upgrades, patches, and testing cycles.
Ensure system integrations with MES, WMS, barcoding systems, and third-party logistics platforms.
Reporting, Analytics & KPI Development
Develop production, inventory, and financial reports using Crystal Reports.
Build real-time manufacturing dashboards in Power BI for:
OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
Production throughput
Scrap and yield analysis
Inventory turns
On-time delivery
Cost variance analysis
Write complex SQL queries to extract and validate ERP data.
Collaborate with operations and plant leadership to define KPIs.
Ensure accuracy and consistency of manufacturing data across systems.
Data Management & Process Optimization
- Maintain data integrity for item master, BOMs, routings, and cost structures.
- Support standard costing and variance analysis processes.
- Lead data cleanup and ERP optimization initiatives.
- Identify automation opportunities within production and reporting workflows.
- Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives through system enhancements.
User Support & Training
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for ERP-related manufacturing issues.
- Train production planners, buyers, warehouse teams, and finance staff.
- Develop documentation for system procedures and best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- 5+ years of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (MRP, BOMs, routings, work orders).
- Advanced experience with Crystal Reports.
- Hands-on experience building dashboards and data models in Power BI.
- Strong SQL skills (SQL Server or Oracle).
- Understanding of manufacturing cost accounting.
