Position Summary:
The Datacenter Storage Administrator is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise storage and server platforms supporting Samsung's Taylor fabrication facility. This individual will be responsible to lead OS patching, upgrades, Tier3 troubleshooting, and capacity planning while supporting disaster recovery, new system design, and implementation projects. This position requires deep technical expertise and strong troubleshooting skills in a fastpaced, highavailability manufacturing environment.
This is a full-time onsite role in Taylor, Texas.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and support datacenter servers and storage systems with 24/7 availability for FAB/CUB production environments.
- Maintain and administer Dell RSeries physical servers, Unity XT storage arrays, Connectrix switches, and VPLEX systems.
- Develop and execute maintenance plans, lifecycle roadmaps, subscription renewals, and vendor coordination activities.
- Create and implement costsaving strategies related to storage utilization, hardware lifecycle, and operational efficiency.
- Manage OS patching, firmware upgrades, and Tier3 troubleshooting for storage and server platforms.
- Lead and support datacenter projects, including disaster recovery planning, new system design, and infrastructure implementation.
- Monitor storage and system performance around the clock, analyzing logs and alerts to ensure optimal operation.
- Maintain storage capacity plans and optimize utilization to achieve maximum performance and efficiency.
- Provide data backup and restore support across production and engineering environments.
- Oversee asset management for both virtualized and physical systems, ensuring accurate tracking and lifecycle documentation.
- Design, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for storage and server operations.
- Mentor and train junior and entrylevel engineers and technicians to strengthen team capability.
