The Back Office Team lead is responsible for rendering clinical care within the medical practice in support of and as directed by the physician. Will also have general responsibilities to assist in the day to day operation of this office to ensure quality patient care. Clinical care will include patient assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
Education
High School Diploma or GED
Experience
Three years of related experience. Requires working knowledge of specialized practices, equipment, and procedures.
Licenses & Certifications
*Certified Medical Assistant
*Healthcare Provider (CPR)
Qualifications
*Ability to organize, analyze, and prioritize work load.
*Ability to work closely and provide effective team building leadership.
*Demonstrated ability in problem identification, analysis, and resolution.
*Knowledge of Word processing and Excel spreadsheets preferred.
*Must be capable of dealing tactfully and effectively with patients, family members, other employees, and physicians.
*Must be certified as a Medical Assistant by the AAMA or a Registered Medical Assistant by the AMT. We will accept certification from NCCT and NHA plus 3 years of experience. MA or nursing school may be used as part of the experience required.
*Must possess the cognitive ability to understand patients' medical records, physician's orders, and medical orders to be communicated to patient, hospital, and or other physician.
*Must possess the sense of discipline to work in accordance with accepted clinical standards.

*Conducts monthly meetings with clinical staff to update on changes and provide educational material.
*Development - Maintain and update level of skill for pertinent medical assistant duties. Participate in continuing education. Participate in the development of new programs (ex: Process Improvement, Quality Initiatives).
*Patient Care - Demonstrate competency in patient care. Maintain patient's safe passage in and out of the clinic, and ancillary services. Greet, assess, and interview patients. Review present medications, allergy history, chief complaint, and brief interrogation of complaint. Update medication list and current problem list. Obtain past medical and surgical history, family history, social history, and vital signs. Anticipate needs of patients, and the doctor under whom I work. Prepare and assist patients for examination, treatment, or procedure by medical staff. Monitoring of patient during examination, or procedure. Administer injections, perform phlebotomy and or lab testing, wound care, suture removal, etc., as directed by provider. Supply patients with medication samples as instructed by provider. Obtain referrals and pre-certifications as necessary. Act as a liaison between provider and patient. Explain medications, side effects, treatments, diets, diseases and disease processes. Communicate with patients over the telephone. Provide test results, answer questions, and respond to messages in a timely manner, and provide clear documentation of this communication in the patient's record. Maintain patient confidentiality.
*Provides comprehensive analysis and provides feedback to Administration regarding issues that impact vaccine for children (VFC), CLIA, proficiency testing, supply ordering, and monitoring.
*Teamwork - Works well with others and functions as a team player. Offers ideas and solutions for issues that affect the team and work area. Stocks and orders supplies as needed. Maintains patient care areas. Participates in the training and skills development of new medical assistants. Assists in other areas of the office as necessary.
*Analyzes work on hand on a daily basis and determines how to allocate labor to achieve the greatest benefit. Determines when overtime work is needed and gets approval from the director.
*Customer Service - Participates in patient satisfaction initiatives. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills. Communicates effectively with patients and management regarding service recovery opportunities. Works together with other team members to achieve Office and System customer service goals.
*Other duties as assigned.

*Safety - Maintains working knowledge of medical equipment and removes faulty equipment from use as necessary. Participates in safety programs.
