Employment StandardsThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Knowledge of state and local laws pertaining to municipal court records.
- Knowledge of open records and confidentiality requirements regarding municipal court records and documents.
- Knowledge of the basic elements of the criminal justice system.
- Knowledge of routine court procedures, terminology, and case-flow management principles.
- Knowledge of basic mathematics and accounting principles.
- Skill in the use of computers and various software programs.
- Skill in performing accurate data entry and records retrieval.
- Skill in cash handling.
- Skill in verbal and written communication.
- Ability to apply ordinances and statutes to routine matters such as dismissing summonses and monitoring deferred sentences.
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgement involving customer service requests and assignments.
- Ability to prepare, organize, and maintain complex filing systems.
- Ability to compile information and prepare detailed reports.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to type a minimum of 35 WPM accurately.
- Ability to operate small office equipment, including copy machines, scanners or multi-line telephone systems.
- Ability to provide a positive customer service experience.
