SUMMARY
Responsible for Administrative support to the Public Works Construction Department. Ensure assignments are completed in accordance with established procedures and policies. Relieves Managers, Supervisors of general administrative tasks by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide administrative support to various Managers & Supervisors of the Public Works Construction Department
- Process weekly payroll for the Public Works Construction Department
- Creates, enters, and process all purchase orders for department
- Processes monthly P-card receipts
- Contacts vendors for quotes and bids on current pricing on a variety of construction materials in order to comply with city purchasing policies
- Coordinates & updates Miss Utility Locate Requests via Miss Utility Online System for all of Public Works
- Provides customer service support to all internal departments within the Town of Ocean City as well as the citizens of Ocean City
- Work directly with the Utility Construction Inspector coordinating yearly correspondence, notifications, billing and invoicing for the Ocean City condemned sidewalk program
- Assists in planning and coordination of departmental projects
- Composes and types a variety of correspondence, reports and other material using Microsoft Word and Excel programs
- Performs other administrative duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year experience working as an Administrative Assistant in a fast paced, time sensitive environment
- Experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred
- Experience working with AS400 operating system
- Experience working in a Construction office environment
