POSITION SUMMARY: As the first point of contact for families and visitors, the Levine Building Receptionist plays a key role in creating a welcoming and informative experience. This position is responsible for answering and directing phone calls, greeting guests, responding to public inquiries, and providing helpful information about the school. This position will also assist with clerical duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Professionally greets and assists staff, students and visitors; welcomes guests to the School, making them feel comfortable while directing them to the proper area of the School.
  • Assists visitors with signing in at the reception desk and provides a temporary visitor’s ID badge for them to wear while on campus.
  • Contribute positively to employee morale; maintains a positive, pleasant demeanor to all constituencies.
  • Switchboard operator

Internal Relationships:

  • Assists with special projects when needed.
  • Welcomes Admissions’ appointments, informing Admissions staff of arrivals. Assists with Admissions’ guests during the application season.
  • Assists Finance Office and Admissions staff with clerical duties as needed.
  • When fire or security alarms sound, inform Plant Operations Manager, giving location of alarm.
  • Inform Plant Operations when repairmen are on campus.
  • Keep updates of all school calendar events.
  • Advises employees of deliveries received at the reception desk.

Special Projects:

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • Good interpersonal skills, outgoing, versatile, dependable, accurate, self-starter who mirrors the culture of the school.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Technologically proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work at a desk and computer screen for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work in a busy, often distracting, environment.
