Position Summary: The Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for customers, both in-person and over the phone, at the Economic Mobility Center (Canoga Park). This role is vital in creating a welcoming and engaging environment for visitors, ensuring they receive accurate information, and assisting with center operations. The ideal candidate will be proactive, friendly, and able to build genuine connections with customers. This position will also support the implementation of video orientations, assist with data entry, and contribute to the smooth operation of both ongoing and special projects. The Receptionist will help maintain a positive atmosphere, assist with center coordination, and support various administrative tasks. Additionally, the receptionist/ admin assistant is an ambassador of NEW's mission, actively contributing to the organization's objectives and ensuring alignment. As an ambassador for the organization, this person is also responsible for actively supporting the overall mission and vision of NEW. Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate should possess strong customer service skills, including the ability to engage with diverse populations in a friendly, professional manner. Additionally, the ideal candidate should possess the following expertise, experience, and skills to successfully fulfill the duties and responsibilities outlined below: Duties and Responsibilities: Customer Service : Create and maintain a welcoming, clean, and organized reception area Greet visitors and participants in a friendly, professional, and resourceful manner Answer incoming calls and provide assistance, information, or direct calls as needed Stay informed about in-house services and local community resources Assist customers with applications, referrals, and general inquiries about EMC services Administrative and Organizational Support: Input customer data and assist with data entry tasks as needed Coordinate and manage center activities, including maintaining a monthly events calendar and scheduling conference rooms Handle the setup and cleanup of meetings and events Manage voicemail messages, incoming and outgoing faxes, and mail distribution Monitor and maintain office supplies, including inventory management, ordering, and stocking Assist with special projects as directed by the Center Manager Perform general administrative tasks, such as preparing files, documents, and packages for meetings or orientations Provide support for deliveries, pickups, and maintaining operational efficiency Perform other related duties as necessary Qualifications and Experience: High School Diploma; Bachelor degree preferred Minimum two (2) years of experience in related environments Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to, handle sensitive and confidential issues in a professional manner and manage crisis situations Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and applications, and database systems and softwares as needed by program.
