Receptionist
Platte Valley Bank- Torrington, WY
JOB SUMMARY:
Answer all phone calls coming into the main bank switchboard in two rings or less, greet and direct customers to various areas or associates of the Bank. Maintain and monitor safe deposit box records and assist customers with access to their boxes. Work with customers as they request the community room for activities and to make sure doors are electronically opened and closed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Answer, respond, and direct telephone calls promptly and professionally. Take messages as needed.
- Greet customers and prospective customers extending courtesy, kindness, and genuine interest.
- Prepare correspondence and perform other secretarial duties as needed.
- Maintain and monitor Safe deposit Box records using computer program, mail monthly billing and assist customers with access to their boxes.
- Work with customers as they request the community room for activities, maintain and audit records.
- Check obituaries daily in the newspaper and notify personal bankers of any accounts that need to have a memo placed on them. Process sympathy cards using guidelines established company wide. Send out associate birthday cards as they arise.
- Distribute daily mail to consumer and personal banker department. Pull installment loan coupons and payments so they can be processed.
- Process check orders, receive completed check orders, and contact customers for pickup. Maintain spreadsheet for tracking all check orders and completed check orders.
- Maintain spreadsheet for company vehicle checkout.
- Order all supplies for Consumer and Personal Banker departments.
- Lock necessary drawers and safe deposit box vault each night.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Effective oral and written communication skills (including telephone).
- General areas of competency: decision making, dependability, development, environmental safety, evaluation skills, interpersonal skills, prioritizing, problem solving, selling skills, team skills and time management.
- Demonstrated aptitude to handle sensitive operational transactions and customer relationships.
- Professional appearance.
- Self-sufficient / self-starting.
- CRT / PC experience required. Software skills needed.
- Must be capable of working with and maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information.
Physical Requirements:
Light Work - exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Reaching, fingering, grasping, repetitive motions, stooping, crouching, standing, walking, lifting, climbing, kneeling, talking, hearing, pulling, pushing, thinking, concentrating and interacting with others.
