JOB SUMMARY
The Receptionist is responsible for greeting all visitors and providing directions to the appropriate departments. In addition to answering and redirecting telephone calls the position includes package acceptance and utilizing MS Office Suite to perform routine secretarial and clerical duties in support of Human Resources and other departments upon request.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- The primary responsibility for this position is representing the Town of Mount Pleasant in a welcoming and professional manner; providing information and direction to visitors and guests.
- This position assists in staffing the front desk during business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
- Answers all incoming telephone calls, responds to questions, directs guests to appropriate departments or forwards calls to voice mail as appropriate.
- Maintains the organization of the front desk and lobby.
- Provides clerical assistance to the Human Resource Office as directed.
- Refills literature Town brochures in displays. Distributes items as requested.
- Posts closed signage for all holidays.
- Accepts package deliveries and notifies appropriate department for retrieval.
- Prepare mailings.
- Updates telephone listings.
- Assists other departments with special projects, as needed.
- Performs other related assigned duties.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:
- High school diploma or GED and one (1) year of work experience;
- Or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
