Job Title: Administrative Specialist (Newark) Department: Newark | General

The Ohio State University Newark Campus is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Administrative Specialist. The Administrative Specialist will provide vital support to the Associate Deans of the Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Engineering (NSME) and Outreach and Engagement (OE). This multifaceted role includes calendar coordination, meeting logistics, and event planning for students, faculty, staff, and external partners. Key responsibilities involve scheduling and tracking faculty reviews and observations, maintaining budget and expenditure records across multiple departments, supporting grant and course research, and managing course scheduling.

Additionally, this role will coordinate academic enrichment events, recruitment activities, and student celebrationsincluding Honors, study abroad, and Earthworks programming. Tasks include preparing invitations, tracking RSVPs, coordinating facilities and catering, creating surveys and reports, and managing student award and scholarship processes. The role also supports student nomination processes for university-wide events and maintains active rosters for enrichment programs.

This position is located on the Newark campus, located in Newark, Ohio. The target range is $24.76 - $32.33/hour.

Additional Information:

Required Qualifications : Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications : 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and technical skills (Excel, Workday, Qualtrics) are essential for success in this role. The ability to manage competing priorities, maintain accurate records, and communicate with multiple stakeholders is critical.
