Receptionist CENTRAL VIRGINIA REGIONAL JAIL 13021 James Madison Highway, Orange, VA 22960 Job Overview We are seeking a highly organized and professional Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate receives and assists the public; performs clerical and routine work; does related tasks as required. Duties Responsible for greeting visitors to Central Virginia Regional Jail Provides public information to the public Performs various tasks associated with visitation for Inmates Verifies individuals being housed at the jail by using the Offender Management System (OMS) Performs a wide variety of clerical duties Answers and directs incoming telephone calls Maintains filing system Scans, opens and copies inmate mail to search and reduce risk of contraband Records inmate funds and medical billing in Lockdown Handles all incoming and outgoing mail Maintains daily logbooks of legal mail Operates various office equipment as required Run daily errands Other duties may be assigned by higher authority Knowledge, Skills and Abilities General knowledge of standard office practices; ability to type accurately and at a reasonable rate of speed, ability to apply policies and procedures, must have an excellent telephone manner, ability to meet and work with the public effectively, ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others, and ability to display professionalism at all times. Ability to handle confidential and / or sensitive material and information. Ability to operate jail vehicle. Education and Experience Must be twenty-one (21) years old, any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school supplemented by vocational training. Special Requirements Possession of a valid appropriate driver's permit issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
