Position Overview
Lead and manage all aspects of the aggregate including safety, operations, operational finance, equipment, and critical support functions with primary responsibility for ensuring effective execution of corporate growth strategy within the companys geographic areas.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures as well as in full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including OSHA, MSHA, etc.
Manage financial success of the line of business by reviewing financial status for areas of responsibility on a daily and monthly basis, assessing long-term profitability inventory control, and monitoring cash flow/collections.
Responsible for daily operations including safe production, quality, customer focus and maintaining the integrity of the safety and environmental systems within companys operations.
Monitor operational performance against budget, performance, target setting, and quality standards. Identify and implement operational performance optimization opportunities to enhance the companys financial returns.
Manage personnel via department leaders in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable employment laws. This includes training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding employees, disciplining employees, long term personnel development and succession planning, as well as addressing complaints and resolving issues.
Develop or assist in developing company strategic plans, safety approach, financial goals, operating plans, and long and short-range objectives consistent with CRH strategies.
Lead teams to achieve profitability goals, safety recognition, and national awards.
Actively participate in Region, Division, or National Performance teams as required.
Participate in annual strategy, budgeting and capital expenditure planning for operations with the leadership team.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education/Experience
Bachelors degree from accredited college or university and ten (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge of MSHA/OSHA rules and regulations required.
Previous industry experience in building materials and/or heavy highway paving preferred.
Work Requirements
Must be 18 years in age or older.
Must maintain a valid drivers license.
Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Regular and consistent attendance is required and must be willing to work evenings and weekends when necessary.
Must be willing to travel to other location frequently within the workday.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
Must be proficient in Microsoft suite of tools including Excel, Word and Outlook, and database software. Must be able to utilize internet and communicate effectively.
Demonstrated ability to train, motive and lead employees.
Basic knowledge of labor and employment laws.
Demonstrate basic mathematical skills as well as the ability to interpret financial data and information.
Willingness and ability to work in and adapt to changes in circumstances, tasks, customer needs and other conditions that may affect their daily responsibilities.
Ability to cope well in stressful environments and communicate professionally.
Demonstrate a strong dedication to meeting the needs and expectations of our internal and external customers.
Willingness to work independently within in a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required.
Ability to facilitate change management and influence positive responses.
Effective interpersonal skills; building rapport, listening, presenting, giving, and receiving feedback.
Experience in strategic planning and execution.
High degree of drive, initiative, and motivation. Action-oriented and results-oriented.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Able to communicate with others by email, telephone and in person. Able to utilize a computer for word processing, email communication, and preparation of documents and presentations.
Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to frequently walk and sit as well as occasionally required to stand, reach, climb stairs and ladders.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and depth perception.
Work Environment
While performing field duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. While performing non-field duties of this position, the environment is typical of an office setting and the noise level is usually quiet to moderate.
