Dedham Country Day School (DCD) seeks a well-qualified Main Office Receptionist and Admissions Assistant to join the robust faculty and staff in our Pre-Kindergarten to grade 8 community for the 2025-2026 school year. This is a full-time position, though DCD will also consider two part-time individuals to manage the role.

Main Office Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage DCDs main office by serving and directing all students, employees, families, and visitors, and maintain building security
  • Supervise the main lobby during early drop-off
  • Answer and direct all incoming phone calls
  • Work with IT to ensure phone system greetings, holidays, extensions, and voicemails are updated annually and as needed
  • Maintain internal phone directory
  • Maintain a professional and well-kept front lobby and reception area, ensuring the space is inviting for visitors, especially in advance of school events
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries for the school
  • Maintain campus copier paper and general office supplies available to teachers and staff
  • Maintain and document daily student attendance and coordinate late arrivals/early dismissals with faculty and staff
  • Provide attendance reports to lower school and middle school division heads
  • Serve on the DCD Safety Committee
  • Manage school photos for students, faculty, & staff including selecting vendor, working with communications to distribute information to families, and coordinating schedule with Chief of Staff and photographer

Admissions Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the annual setup of Ravenna, including applications, events, parent tours, and student visits
  • Update admissions documents (towns, matriculation, etc.) annually
  • Schedule and coordinate admission appointments, including, but not limited to, tours, classroom observations, and student visits
  • Coordinate with admissions testers and the Associate Director of Admissions to facilitate student visits
  • Process candidates admission application materials and communicate with prospective families regarding the admission process and timeline to ensure completion of applicant files
  • Utilize Ravenna to generate reports and queries for the Admission Office as needed
  • Manage DCDs participation in the Boston-area shared forms group
  • Maintain admissions trend data/reports and submit DCD data to industry group annual surveys as requested
  • Facilitate accepted student mailings
  • Provide administrative support to Admissions and other faculty/staff as needed with mailings and events (i.e., creating name tags, compiling packets, creating agendas, printing documents, etc.)

Strong candidates will have:

  • A bachelors degree and related work experience
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively
  • Excellent communication skills with a willingness to provide strong customer service to visitors
  • Proficiency with technology and Google Suite, with a preference for those with experience using Ravenna
  • Experience in an independent school, college, or university setting preferred
