Main Street Bank is seeking a FT Bank Receptionist in our Wheeling, WV office. This is a high-volume in-bound call position, with additional in-person customer facing support. While we are willing to train the right person, preference will be given to individuals with experience in a similar environment; banking experience a significant plus! This position requires the delivery of exceptional customer service to clients, providing support, resolving issues, and ensuring overall customer satisfaction. The Bank Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for customers, visitors, and callers, representing the bank in a professional and courteous manner. This position is responsible for managing a high volume of incoming calls, directing inquiries appropriately, and providing accurate information to customers regarding bank products, services, and policies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate the highest levels of courtesy and professionalism at all times.
  • Answer and manage a high volume of incoming calls in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Respond to general customer inquiries related to bank services, hours, locations, and account information.
  • Direct callers to the appropriate department or staff member based on the nature of the inquiry.
  • Greet and assist customers and visitors upon arrival at the branch with exceptional courtesy, providing hospitality, directions, and escorting customers to appropriate offices if needed..
  • Maintain knowledge of bank products, services, and current promotions to provide accurate and helpful information across all deposit and loan functions. .
  • Maintain an accurate and updated list of employees, email address and contact information for immediate reference points.
  • Record messages and ensure timely follow-up when necessary.
  • Maintain the reception area in a clean and organized manner.
  • Assist with clerical and administrative tasks as needed (e.g., filing, data entry, mail distribution).
  • Handle sensitive or confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Appropriately and professionally direct all political/news/paper/tv inquires to correct staff.
  • Support the branch team with overflow customer service or teller tasks when necessary (if cross-trained)
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes No Work Experience and Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a receptionist, customer service, or call center role preferredbanking experience is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure or during peak call times.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-first attitude.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with telephone systems.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
Education Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required. Proficiency in banking software and Microsoft Office preferred.
