JOB TITLE: Physical Therapy Intake Clerk

ORGANIZATIONAL UNIT: Health Services Department: Physical Therapy Clinic

SUPERVISOR: Physical Therapy Coordinator

FLSA: Non-exempt

SALARY RANGE: $11.43-18.87 an hour

ALL FULL TIME POSITIONS: In addition to your pay, your salary also includes Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance. The Biweekly deduction from employee paycheck is $40.00 for Employee Only, $95.00 Employee plus Children, $120.00 Employee plus Spouse, and $140.00 Employee plus family.

CPN Health Services personnel may be assigned to provide services to patients of all ages including but not limited to Indian Children and will require a criminal history background screening.

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for registering patients for physical therapy appointments, verifying insurances, and maintaining schedules of all physical therapists. Assists patients with intake forms and initial development of their physical therapy records. Provide clerical and administrative support for the supervisor and the department staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Updates each patient's information in the computer for all appointments.

Answers multi-line telephone system. Directs calls to the appropriate person or department. Takes message when the person is not available.

Responsible for scheduling of new patients.

Responsible for maintaining and tracking of the providers' schedule changes in reference to patient appointments.

Responsible for making appointments for the physical therapy clinic and checking all patients in and out timely.

Responsible for making reminder calls to patients the day before initial appointment, calling no-shows/cancelled appointments to reschedule visits.

Responsible for scanning documents into patient files.

Assists with data tracking by recording data in excel regarding outcomes, no-shows/cancels, and other data points as assigned.

Collecting copays when applicable utilizing a cash box or card reader

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

Perform other duties and projects as required by supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

The ability to communicate well with patients, providers, and other staff.

The ability to maintain computer data.

Must be self-motivated.

The ability to multi-task.

Good organization and analytical skills are needed.

Excellent customer service skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Clerical experience.

Experience in medical office preferred.

Medical Terminology preferred

Insurance verification experience preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The ability to be seated or standing for prolonged periods of time.

Repetitive work at a computer.

Some lifting, bending, stretching, and kneeling may be required.

The ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Compliance with all immunization requirements to work in a healthcare setting.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

Health facility office environment.
