Overview of the Job
A school finance officer manages a school's finances, including budgeting, invoicing, and payments. They also provide administrative support to the school's principal.
Experience and Qualifications
Must have a Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field. An advanced degree, such as an MBA Professional certifications, such as the Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
Compensation
- Part-Time Hourly Wage: $17-$27
- Based on Experience and Qualifications
- Weekly Hours: 20-25
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for overall financial operations of the school, including development and maintenance of annual budget and long-range financial projections.
- Accounting
- Maintains FACTS Tuition financial records
- Completes TN Department of Human Service Reports
- Maintain financial systems and processes
- Produce and analyze figures for accountants
- Audit accounts, invoices, billing and expense claims
- Budgeting
- Manage the processes for financial forecasting and budgets
- Develop and maintain annual budgets and long-range financial projections
- Financial reporting
- Compliance
- Financial planning and analysis
- Analyze the financial strengths and weaknesses of the school
- Propose corrective actions
- Collaborate with different departments for planning and budgeting
- Knowledge of financial principles, accounting practices, and financial analysis
