How do I post a job ad?
To post a new job, go to your dashboard and click “Post Job.” We'll then take you through our four-step posting process:
Step 1 - Job Details: Enter your job title, hiring organization, location, and job description in the text boxes provided. If the position allows for fully remote work, check “Yes.” Enter the Job Description and complete Job Summary fields for employment type, required years of experience, salary/compensation, and bonus/commission potential. Here, you can also input an internal job code to help track your organization’s position. If you want to keep your company name confidential, check the box on the right. The job details, including city and state will show, but the company name will be omitted. Don't know how to write an effective job ad? Try our Job Ad Builder, linked next to the Job Description box.
Step 2 - Ad Targeting: iHire will recommend one or more of our 56 industry-focused communities for your job based on the information in your posting. You can choose the best match from our recommendations. If no suggestion is available, you can view additional communities by clicking “Browse Other iHire Communities” and search by job title. You may also search all 56 iHire sites to find the community and job title that work best for you.
Step 3 - Job Application: Add prescreening questions to help identify qualified candidates. A list of common questions is provided, but you may also create custom questions and answer types. Next, you may include an optional voluntary self-identification form for OFCCP compliance. Then, choose the email address(es) or URL where you would like to receive applications as candidates apply. You will then choose if the applicants must submit a resume to apply.
Step 4 - Review and Finalize: Click "Preview Job Ad" to see what it will look like to candidates. This will open in a separate browser tab. If you are happy with your ad, go back to the original browser tab and click "Post Job" if you already have an open Job Slot. Or, you may click “Add to Cart” to purchase a Job Slot. Lastly, you can improve your posting and make stronger candidate connections by including your company logo, description, benefits, locations, and video. Go to "My Organization" and “Manage Company Profile” to create a free company profile.
